Former Ingwe Captain In The Brink Of Losing Eye Sight, Urgently Needs Financial Help

Martin Imbalambala, former Afc leopards midfielder has gone from grace to grass. The former Ingwe anchor man, had friends on Friday morning seek financial help on his behalf on social media.

It is said the Imbalambala, lost his eye sight in 2018 partially, while undergoing a fitness test with the then NSL side Bidco United in Thika.

“I went to Sabatia Hospital and was given some medications. I got some improvements, but not a hundred percent. I can only see partially and can barely recognize someone who is at a distance,” said Imbalambala who also added that he could not raise the required four thousand Kenya shillings required for his next appointment in April.

The 31 year old who also later turned out for Vihiga United and Kakamega Homeboyz had been rumored to be a heavy drinker. That behavior is said did not go well with former coach Edward Manoah who had no other option but to axe him.

Imbalambala, a tactical defensive midfield, is known to bring calm and stability in the midfield with his style of play. It is therefore no surprise that Kakamega Homeboyz could not resist him and had to hire him.

Way back in 2018, it was reported that he had lost his ability to see while on his way for a  medical checkup at Kikuyu hospital.

His brother Vincent Chagala later reported that he felt a sharp pain on his fore head and his eye sight went dark. He later needed around 50 thousand Kenya shillings for treatment by then, something that some friends tried to help.

The now former footballer is in dire need of financial assistance so that he can seek medical attention. Imbalambala is currently living with his wife Jacklyn Jalang’o.
