Chelsea Hopeful As Kai Havertz Asks To Leave But Real Madrid Also Are In Pursuit.

German international Kai Havertz has reportedly asked his club Bayern Leverkusen to be released this summer.

According to reports from the German press, the 21 year old has had enough at  Bay Arena and has told his employers of his desire to seek a new challenge

It has also been reported that Frank Lampard’s Chelsea is preparing to table a bid, but the former English champions will have to battle it out with Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

The forward is valued at £75million but Chelsea will have to match his £90m buyout clause if they wish to prize him away.

The 21-year-old £90m release clause is okay with Chelsea who are happy to pay the bill in instalments.

However, the Blues will face competition from Real Madrid for his signature. Any pursuit from the Spanish giants though would mean that they would have to sell players first in order to fund a move for him.

It has been rumored that Colombian international James Rodriguez and troubled welsh man Gareth Bale, might be among those players considered for sale in order to fund the Kai Havertz move.

Havertz enjoyed a brilliant season with Bayer  scoring 17 goals in 43 games across all competitions.

His performances propelled the club to a fifth-place finish in the Bundesliga, while they also finished as runners up in the German Cup.
