West ham football club have denied claims that Chelsea have made a formal bid for midfielder Declan Rice.
The English media have reported that the East London club ridiculed their city rivals on their intention to price away the England international.
“Rice is not for sale, any £50m bid would be laughed off and West Ham hope the midfielder stays at the club for many years. Rice has a long-term contract which runs out in 2024 and West Ham have the option of extending it by another year,” said the club through an official statement released to the English media.
Westham also added that the 21 year old Rice will return to the club on Monday for preseason training with the rest of his teammates.
The midfielder however is not keen to return to his childhood club. It has also been reported that Chelsea who released him at a tender age of just 14 years, left him devastated.
