Former Manchester United captain Patrice Evra has warned Olegunnar Solskajaer that it is time center back Harry Maguire sat on the bench.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday after the heavy Tottenham Hotspurs defeat at home, the pundit was emotional.

“I never want to talk much about United because when you do, it hurts a lot and sends messages to many. Gary Neville had cautioned early that the captain needs a holiday. Tonight there was no excuse not to perform; we are always talking about pairing him with the right person, but what about taking him out of the game completely?” ranted the Frenchman who now works with the juniors at Manchester United as a coach.

On Sunday Manchester United was terribly defeated by Tottenham Hotspurs, with the away team netting in six times to only one for the home team.

“I hate criticizing players because I have been there once. Tonight was a total let down to the Manchester United family worldwide. It’s difficult commenting on my team, I’d rather do it to any other team. The current team we have behaves like small children who need slaps,” continued Evra who was unapologetic.

The former captain added that he was now tired of watching the Red Devils and urged head coach Olegunnar to start benching some players, starting with his captain Harry Maguire or lose his job in the near future.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho equaled his biggest margin of victory away from home as a Premier League manager, winning by five goals for the first time since his Chelsea side won 5-0 at Swansea City in January 2015.

The home teams Manchester United on the other hand have lost their first two home games of a league campaign for just the fifth time in the club’s history, with 1986/87 being the previous occasion they suffered two defeats from two at Old Trafford.
