Deputy president William Ruto dared former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday adding that he has full confidence with IEBC come 2022 presidential elections and the kenyan public will decide who will be president.

Speaking during a political rally in Embu County, the deputy president sounded courageous.

“We have confidence in the institutions of our nation. I hear others saying that I have been played by the new team at IEBC that will oversee our elections. But I want them to know that the Kenyan public will speak at last even if they chose Oburu Odinga as the chairman of IEBC,” said the deputy president who also added that he was confident that he has the Kenyan people at his back.

The deputy president also added that with the current BBI to be unveiled soon, Kenyans should wake up and refuse to be taken for a ride.

“We shall first talk about our small businesses before thinking of giving each other top government positions. The Mama mbogas and Boda boda riders are more important to us than the top government positions they want to allocate to themselves,” said the DP amid the youthful crowd that had come to cheer him up during the rally.

ANC chairman Musalia Mudavadi however was critical of Ruto’s political campaigns, citing them as unnecessary.

He also added that political campaigns during this time when the country is facing an economic crisis were only fueling mass hatred instead of uniting the country.

The deputy president has however maintained his political stand against the Building Bridges Initiative and the ‘Handshake’ between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
