FANS ARRESTED IN KITALE DURING CHELSEA REAL MADRID CLASH

About 106 football crazy fans were arrested on Tuesday night during a Uefa Champions league match between Chelsea and Real Madrid in Transnzoia County, Kitale town.

Speaking after the arrest was a police officer from Kitale town who confirmed that about 106 persons were arrested for contravening Covid 19 rules during an operation.

“There is a joint here in town known as Spana Video show where we raided and found 106 persons watching a football match. It was past curfew hours, there was no social distance neither were they wearing masks, “said the police officer who also added that all of them were presented at Kitale law courts on Wednesday morning.

Last week Afc leopards players fled for their lives as they engaged in a cat and mouse chase during an attempted practice session at Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi.

Health minister Mutahi Kagwe has also maintained that at the moment sports is not a priority but the safety of Kenyans.

This means that the resumption of sporting events in the country will have to wait a little longer as the government and the ministry of health engages.

Public gatherings have also been banned as Kenya currently suffers a third wave of coronavirus.

The police have continued to urge Kenyans to observe Covid 19 protocols or face the law.
