Chelsea football club have been reported on Thursday by The Sun to be interested in bringing back now golden boy Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge.
The English media also claimed that Lukaku is one of Thomas Tuchel’s top transfer targets this summer with Chelsea giving up in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
The blues are likely to be in the market for a new striker with Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Lukaku’s all-round game has improved in Milan under Antonio Conte, who is on course to lead his side to a first Serie A title in 11 years, and Chelsea now seem to have turned their attention to him.
The 27-year-old has scored 21 Serie A goals this season as Inter lead second-placed Atalanta by 11 points with five games remaining, but earlier on he had made just 15 appearances in a three-year spell for the Blues, before permanently leaving for Everton in 2014.
Meanwhile, Timo Werner, who has been a regular starter under Tuchel, has scored just three goals in his last 33 matches, but the big question still remains to be, ‘Is Chelsea biting off more than they can chew?”
