Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, on Monday afternoon fired a warning to teachers who are on guard during the exams.
The minister was speaking during an inspection of the ongoing KCPE exams in Thika town and was a disappointed man.
“We are going on well with no hitches. The main priority is to make sure that our process is free and fair and also the rights of every student should be accorded to him or her regardless. Every student even in hospitals will do these exams,” said a confident Magoha.
However, earlier this morning education PS Julius Swan while touring Kisii, decided to send home an invigilator who showed up late at Kisii primary School.
“Just reverse your vehicle and go, you cannot report late and expect to invigilate an exam,” an angry Swan yelled after the supervisor showed up minutes past 8am.
Later on Monday minister George Magoha followed those sentiments and seemed to support the PS.
“We cannot allow invigilators to turn up late. We are trying as best as possible to make sure that this process has no hitches whatsoever. Whoever will turn up late, will bear the consequences,” said the tough talking Magoha.
The PS together with the Minister Magoha have now issued a stern warning to invigilators and teachers who will show up late during the KCPE national exams.
They also agreed to involve the teachers Service Commission so that further disciplinary action will be taken.
