The Central Organization of Trade Unions boss Francis Atwoli on Saturday assured the Abaluhya community that Musalia Mudavadi is their first choice for presidency in 2022.
Speaking during the final sendoff of Church of God long serving deceased leader Reverend Byrum Makokha, the Abaluhya politicians were in an upbeat mood at the church’s Kima Mission headquarters in Luanda, Vihiga County.
“Yes last month I held a meeting with top politicians in this country at my home in Kajiado. But that had nothing to do with politics, but just business. Should I remind Mudavadi that in 2016 we put you upfront to run for presidency, what we want is you to come out as a strong leader to run this country,” said Atwoli who also added that Musalia Mudavadi is the official Abaluhya spokesperson.
However, that sentiment seemed not to have gone well with Eugine Wamalwa the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Devolution.
“Instead of power politics, we would like to see politics that empower our people. We should not be fighting over who should be the official spokesperson or who should go to the state house to represent our people,” said Wamalwa who surprisingly is the leader of another faction of Abaluhya politicians.
As the Abaluhya community seemed confused, but somehow ready to rearrange and re-strategize themselves before the 2022 elections, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi is now calling upon the community to unite and back him up for presidency.
