Klopp wants to leave champions Liverpool.
German tactician Jurgen Klopp insists he will leave Liverpool when his contract expires in 2024, reports from the English media indicate.
When signing his new Liverpool contract, Klopp’s assistants Peter Krawietz and Pepijn Lijnders, also agreed similar deals.
Klopp was rewarded for the progress he has made with Liverpool when he signed a new long-term deal until 2024 last December.
And he appears content with leaving England when his contract expires.
At the time, Klopp said: “For me personally this is a statement of intent, one which is built on my knowledge of what we as a partnership have achieved so far and what is still there for us to achieve.
Asked about his plans to return to Germany, Klopp told SWR Sport: “Definitely to live, after my career. Most likely even to Mainz.”
On how long he will stay at Anfield, he added: “Four years in Liverpool.”
Klopp has an affinity with Mainz having spent 18 years at the club, first as a player and then as manager.
Now it has also been reported by Bild that he is interested in the German national team after his contract expires in 2024.
