Unai Emery will coach in Europa next season, Arsenal risks not participating

Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery has found a new home as Spanish side Villareal appointed him on Thursday.

The 48-year-old Spaniard succeeds Javi Calleja, who left the club despite a fifth-placed finish that secured a Europa League spot.

Emery took over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal in May 2018 after winning three successive Europa Leagues with Seville and a Ligue 1 title with PSG.

But he was dismissed by the Gunners after their worst run without a victory for 27 years.

The Spaniard, popularly known for his thick accent ‘ Good ebening’, led Arsenal to a Europa league final last season.

The Gunners later hired former captain Mike Aterta and now after 37 games, they lie at 10th place on the log with 53 points. Their only hope for Europa league qualification next season is to beat Frank Lampards’ Chelsea on 1st August, FA cup finals at Wembley.

Life sometimes seems so unfair and also ironical depending on the context.

Unai Emery who was sacked because of not performing as per the required standards, might just surprise the world again by winning the Europa league next season.

After all, he is the master of that league. On the contrary, Arsenal who fired him might not just qualify.

Without patience, life can change so fast and within a blink of an eye, title contenders might simply be mere spectators.
