Reports from European football magazine TalkSport have indicated that Manchester United is interested in Barcelona’s wonder kid Ansu Fati.
The Guinea Bissau born 17 year old described as Lionel Messi’s ‘heir’ has now been linked to Manchester United with a £360m release clause.
The youngster is the talk of La Rambla after making his debut for Spain on Thursday night – becoming the youngest player to do so since 1936.
He smashed yet another record on Sunday, becoming the youngest ever goal scorer for the Spanish national team.
With club captain Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona far from certain, it could soon fall to the teenager to fill his shoes.
Messi wanted to leave on a free transfer but that was rejected and he eventually conceded defeat. He remains a Blaugrana player for now but his discontent is well publicized.
The Argentina superstar, 33, is not happy and the Catalan club could be forced to look more towards the future and that means Fati is one possible option.
After all, Fati scored just six minutes into his LaLiga debut, two minutes into his home LaLiga debut and then recorded his first ever assist just five minutes later.
But now stakes are even higher with other wealthy clubs like Manchester United showing interest. In the coming weeks, it will be interesting as the world of football watches how transfers sagas will be handled.
