France forward Kylian Mbappe has been reported to be obsessed with joining Real Madrid even after last week his parent club PSG rejected a 137$ million offer.
Mbappe has told the club he wants to move to Spain and has rejected two new salary offers.
However, the Spanish giants are weighing up a fresh offer for the speedy winger and the options now are that they could sign him on a pre-contract in just four months on a free transfer, so a new bid may not be necessary.
They must decide whether to increase their initial offer of €160million (£137m) or wait and sign the French superstar for nothing. They are contemplating their next move.
Mbappe is able to sign a pre-contract with another club on January 1 but PSG still rejected the initial big-money offer and launched a verbal attack on Real Madrid on Wednesday, accusing them of behaving ‘illegally’.
Real have to decide whether to be patient, or try again with a fresh bid as they want to make the impact signing now with their Spanish rival Barcelona reeling from a cash crisis.
PSG will have to pay around £30million to Monaco as part of the deal when they signed him, but that may be preferable than letting him go for nothing.
They expected Mbappe to sign a new deal and claim he has told them he would not leave on a free transfer.
The player prefers for the transfer to go through now, so there may be one final twist before the window closes.
Real Madrid’s original offer was rejected by PSG on Tuesday night, but the France World Cup winner wants to leave and insists he will not sign a new contract.
