Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has been accused by a section of English fans and media of being a diver and a cheat, English media reported on Monday afternoon.
In the 35th minute at Wembley stadium during the FA cup semis, Bruno appeared to lose control of the ball after knocking it past Mateo Kovacic.
On further inspection it was clear that there was no contact between the Croatian midfielder and Bruno in the build-up. Despite this, the 25-year-old still fell to the floor, clutching his leg in agony.
“Many fans believe that the red devils midfielder should have been booked for an “embarrassing” dive in the first-half of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final clash against,” reported Sport Bible.
This isn’t the first time Bruno has been accused of diving during his short spell with the red devils.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy is worried that his diving could become a problem.
“From a football point of view, Bruno was terrific again.” Murphy wrote in his Daily Mailcolumn after their clash against Spurs last month.
The sensational midfielder on Sunday tasted his first defeat in a united shirt when they went three goals to one during an FA Cup semi final tie.
The Portuguese midfielder managed to score a late consolation from the penalty spot in the 85th minute, but despite adding to his tally of nine goals for the season, the main talking point from the game was his ‘diving’ antics earlier on in the tie.
