There has been a claim that Deputy Chief Justice, Philomena Mwilu and Supreme Court Judge, Smokin Wanjala have resigned on various social media platforms.
The post, which emerged on various social media platforms, was shared on 11th September 2022 as shown by this Twitter screen grab.
This post that went viral immediately caused an uproar among netizens following the verdict of the Supreme Court that upheld Dr William Ruto’s presidential candidature in the just concluded Kenyan general elections.
Ruben Fm conducted a fact check on this claim to verify its validity. According to Judiciary’s Twitter account, this claim is fake.
Upon flagging it down, the Judiciary has henceforth given a clarification on this through their official Twitter handle. In a statement, the Judiciary has raised a concern about a targeted social media onslaught on its members.
The claim, therefore, that Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Supreme Court Judge Smokin Wanjala have resigned is false and misleading.
